Introduction

App Drafting Labs ("we," "us," or "our") is a brand operated by Offensive Threads LLC. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit our website or use our mobile applications, including FossilFinder Pro (collectively, the "Services").

By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

FossilFinder Pro — Data We Collect

FossilFinder Pro collects and processes the following data to provide its core features:

  • User-Uploaded Photos: When you use FossilFinder Pro's identification features, you may capture a new photo with the camera or choose an existing photo from your device photo library (for example, via Choose from Library). FossilFinder Pro accesses your photo library only when you explicitly choose to select an image — we do not browse or upload your library in the background. Selected or captured images are collected and processed solely for AI-assisted fossil and specimen identification. Photos may be stored locally on your device and, when you sync or identify, transmitted to our secure backend (Supabase) and analyzed via Google Gemini AI. We use these images only for the identification and logbook features you request (purpose limitation); we do not sell your photos or use them for unrelated advertising.
  • Location Data: With your explicit permission, FossilFinder Pro collects precise or approximate location data to tag discovery coordinates on your logbook entries and map your finds. Location access is optional and can be revoked at any time through your device settings.
  • Logbook & User Content: Notes, identification results, timestamps, and other content you create within the app.
  • Account & Subscription Data: If you create an account or subscribe to premium features, we may collect your email address and subscription status via the Apple App Store.
  • Device & Diagnostic Data: Device type, operating system version, app version, and crash logs to improve performance and fix issues.

How We Process Your Data

We use collected information to:

  • Process fossil and specimen identification requests using AI-assisted analysis
  • Tag and display discovery coordinates on your personal logbook and map
  • Provide, maintain, and improve FossilFinder Pro and our other applications
  • Enable offline-first functionality with optional cloud synchronization
  • Respond to support inquiries and communicate with you
  • Process in-app purchases and manage subscription tiers
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or fraud

Data Storage & AI Processing

FossilFinder Pro is designed to work offline. Your data is stored locally on your device by default. When you enable cloud sync or use AI identification features (including photos you captured or selected from your library):

  • Supabase: Your data — including photos, logbook entries, and location coordinates — is securely stored and synchronized via Supabase, our cloud infrastructure provider. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS) and stored on secure servers.
  • Google Gemini AI: User-uploaded photos submitted for identification are processed through Google Gemini AI via our secure backend infrastructure. Images are sent solely for the purpose of generating identification results and are not used to train third-party models beyond the scope of providing the Service.

Cloud sync and AI features require your explicit opt-in. You may use FossilFinder Pro's offline features without enabling either.

Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to operate our apps, including:

  • Apple App Store: For app distribution and in-app purchases
  • Supabase: For secure cloud data storage and synchronization
  • Google Gemini: For AI-assisted fossil and specimen identification

These providers process data according to their own privacy policies. We share only the minimum data necessary to provide the requested feature.

We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with data brokers or third parties for their marketing purposes. We do not monetize your data. Your photos, location data, and logbook entries are used exclusively to provide FossilFinder Pro's features and improve the Service.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our Services. Locally stored data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Cloud-synced data is retained until you request deletion or close your account.

Your Rights & Data Deletion

You have the right to:

  • Access, update, or delete your personal information
  • Request complete deletion of your account and all associated data (photos, logbook entries, location data, and cloud-synced content)
  • Opt out of cloud sync and AI features at any time
  • Revoke camera, photo library, and location permissions through your device settings
  • Export your data upon request

To request data deletion, email us at privacy@appdraftinglabs.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." We will process your request within 30 days and confirm when your data has been removed from our systems.

Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us at privacy@appdraftinglabs.com and we will promptly delete it.

Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission and secure cloud storage via Supabase. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
